Transparency First: Self Storage Reviews is committed to editorial independence and honest monetization disclosure. This page explains how we generate revenue and how that affects (or doesn't affect) the content you see.

1. Our Revenue Model

Self Storage Reviews is a free, independent review platform. We generate revenue through the following methods:

Important: Advertisers displayed through Google AdSense have zero influence over our rankings, reviews, or editorial content. We do not control which specific ads appear, nor can advertisers pay to appear next to specific businesses or pages.

1.2 Affiliate Links (If Applicable)

In some cases, we may include affiliate links to products or services relevant to the self storage industry. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.

Our Policy: We only recommend products or services we believe are genuinely useful. Affiliate commissions do not influence our review data or business rankings.

1.3 No Pay-for-Placement

Self Storage Reviews does NOT accept payment from businesses to:

  • Improve their ranking on our site
  • Remove negative reviews or complaints
  • Feature their listing prominently
  • Alter their star rating or review count

Rankings are determined solely by publicly available Google review data. Businesses cannot pay to appear higher in our listings.

2. Editorial Independence

Our editorial team (if applicable) operates independently from our advertising partners. We do not:

  • Write biased content to favor advertisers
  • Suppress negative information about businesses that advertise with us
  • Allow advertisers to influence our data aggregation or presentation

Data Source: All business ratings, review counts, and complaint data are sourced from publicly available Google Maps information. We display this data objectively, without editorial filtering based on advertising relationships.

3. How Ads Affect User Experience

We strive to balance monetization with user experience:

  • Ad Placement: Ads are clearly labeled and separated from editorial content
  • Ad Density: We follow Google AdSense policies to avoid excessive ad density
  • Mobile Experience: Ads are optimized for mobile viewing and do not obstruct primary content
  • Page Speed: We optimize ad loading to minimize impact on site performance

4. Third-Party Advertising Partners

If we use advertising networks other than Google AdSense (e.g., Media.net, Ezoic, etc.), those partners may collect data about your visit for advertising purposes. These partners operate under their own privacy policies:

5. Sponsored Content (If Applicable)

If we ever publish sponsored content, native advertising, or paid placements, they will be clearly labeled as "Sponsored," "Paid Partnership," or "Advertisement." As of June 20, 2026, we do not publish sponsored content.

6. FTC Compliance

Self Storage Reviews complies with the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising. We disclose material connections and financial relationships in accordance with FTC guidelines.

7. Business Owners: Listing Corrections

If you own or manage a self storage business listed on this site and wish to request corrections to your listing information (address, phone, hours, etc.), you may contact us.

We do NOT charge fees for:

  • Listing your business (all data is automatically sourced from Google)
  • Correcting factual errors in your listing
  • Removing your listing if your business is permanently closed

We CANNOT:

  • Remove or alter customer reviews (reviews are from Google's public data)
  • Change your star rating (ratings reflect Google's aggregate data)
  • Boost your ranking through payment (rankings are based solely on review count and rating)
